Gadsden County Development Council welcomes Four Star Freightliner to county

Four Star Freightliner breaks ground for new facility in Gadsden County, FL.

Four Star Freightliner Breaks Ground on Gadsden County Location

The Gadsden County Development Council (GCDC) is proud to welcome Four Star Freightliner to the community as Gadsden County’s newest business partner. Four Star Freightliner, a leading heavy and medium duty truck dealer of Freightliner, FUSO and Western Star brand trucks for both highway and vocational use, has chosen a greenfield build-to- suit solution for their 25,000-square- foot sales and service operations in Midway, FL.

The $2.5 million capital investment brings 18 employees to Gadsden County and allows for an additional 10 jobs at an average wage of $50,000. Governor Rick Scott said, “It’s great to see companies like Four Star Freightliner succeed in our state. This new facility will positively impact the Gadsden County community and create more jobs for families. We are doing everything we can to make Florida competitive for jobs, especially in rural communities. I look forward to many more years of success and growth for Four Star Freightliner in our state.”

Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners Chairperson Sherrie Taylor stated, “economic growth and development is one of our major priorities. Our economic development team, my fellow commissioners, the Gadsden County Development Council and the Gadsden County Chamber of Commerce are all doing a yeoman’s job. Thanks to them, we now have a Four-Star Freightliner breaking ground in this county. This is the type of growth we need, attracting companies that offer well-paying jobs with great benefits. My hope is that this groundbreaking is the start of many more to come for this county.

A key component to the successful expansion of Four Star Freightliner is the Florida Rural Infrastructure Fund. Gadsden County was awarded $387,585 in competitive funds to extend water, wastewater and electric utilities provided by Talquin Electric Cooperative to the chosen site including a newly constructed public road.

We are grateful that we have found the perfect location along Interstate 10 in Gadsden County for our dealership, said Jerry Kocan, Dealer Principal. The Gadsden County Development Council has been a true partner every step of the way. The cooperation between the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Gadsden County, and the Gadsden County Development Council made it possible for us to make this investment in the city of Midway.
