Armada Ammunition Announces Ammunition Manufacturing Facility in Gadsden County

Armada Ammunition of Gadsden County, FL

GREENSBORO, Fla.-April 12, 2016. Armada Ammunition, a newly created small arms ammunition manufacturer, is announcing the locating of its new ammunition manufacturing facility at 2230 Greensboro Highway in Greensboro, Florida at a Project Announcement event hosted by the Gadsden County Development Council (GCDC).

Engaged via Tallahassee Community College conference

Armada Ammunition was engaged by the GCDC through the Tallahassee Community College Florida Public Safety Institute’s (FPSI) Law Enforcement Vendor Conference in the fall of 2014. The ammunition manufacturing facility is housed in an 8000-square-foot building on a 1-acre site with 4 adjacent acres under option for potential future expansion.

Armada Ammunition will produce a full line of premium quality pistol and rifle caliber ammunition for law enforcement, the U.S. military, and training purposes. Through extensive research and development, Armada Ammunition streamlined the manufacturing process to ensure the highest levels of safety, accuracy, and reliability for each round that it produces.

A strategic partnership with Florida Public Safety Institute

“Armada Ammunition was created to address the dearth of qualifying rounds and duty rounds needed by training programs, law enforcement, and the U.S. military,” explained John Coffman, Chief Executive Officer of Armada Ammunition. Coffman continued, “An advantage of locating in Gadsden County is that we will be able to engage in a strategic partnership with FPSI using the recruiting classes training at FPSI which will facilitate the testing and certifying of our rounds.” TCC FPSI Executive Director and GCDC Board member, E. E. Eunice stated, “TCC FPSI looks forward to a continuing relationship with Armada Ammunition and the GCDC on projects of mutual interest.”

Town manager Emrich welcomes Armada Ammunition

Harold Emrich, Greensboro Town Manager, welcomed Armada Ammunition saying, “We are proud to have a company as Armada Ammunition that shall be serving law enforcement and the U.S. military, located in Greensboro. I am pleased to see our partnership with Gadsden County and the GCDC result in advanced manufacturing jobs for Greensboro.” Lee Garner, Chairman of the GCDC, said, “I commend Greensboro for having an 8,000-square-foot building, move-in ready and properly zoned. It is this type of planning and preparation that facilitates economic development.”

Commissioner Morgan sites new jobs

Gadsden County Commissioner Gene Morgan added, “Armada Ammunition will create thirty jobs in year 1 and expects to have a total of forty-five jobs by year two at a competitive wage. As the county commissioner representing Greensboro, I am pleased to welcome Armada Ammunition to our community.”

Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners Chairman, Brenda Holt said, “The engagement of Armada Ammunition and its ultimate establishment in Gadsden County is embodied in the BOCC mission statement: To build a better community by offering efficient, sustainable services, encouraging economic development, and providing safety to improve the quality of life.
